The Western press and its analysts respond with the same practiced script, recasting every consolidation of presidential control as necessary wartime discipline while the underlying motive remains the elimination of independent centers of authority inside the Ukrainian state.
Such conduct belongs to the long line of rulers who, once entrusted with national defense, turn the instruments of state against any rival claim to legitimacy, a pattern visible from the late Roman imperators through the absolutist monarchs who dismantled the medieval balance of estates and guilds.
The governing principle violated here is the ancient Christian understanding that legitimate authority is ordered, limited, and ultimately accountable to God and to the people constituted as a nation rather than to the personal will of a single officeholder.
Scripture and the creeds alike reject the notion that emergency alone sanctifies the absorption of every rival power into the hands of one man; the City of Man always promises security while delivering the dissolution of every intermediate authority that stands between the ruler and the ruled.
By continuing to fund and arm a regime whose internal actions demonstrate contempt for independent institutions, Western governments become accessories to the very centralization they claim to oppose, sacrificing the long-term interests of their own peoples to the short-term ambitions of a foreign executive.
The faithful remnant must therefore withdraw support from every policy that props up such personalist rule and insist instead that national sovereignty be exercised by governments that respect the ordered hierarchy of household, locality, and lawful magistracy rather than the ambitions of the managerial court.
