Corporate boards once bound to return on capital now serve the Managerial Priesthood that enforces diversity quotas, pronoun mandates, and climate rituals. When Bud Light placed a biological male in its advertising and Disney attacked parental rights in Florida, sales collapsed and stock values cratered. The pattern repeats across multiple sectors where executives traded customer loyalty for progressive favor.

This turn did not arise from market demand. It followed the capture of elite institutions by the same ideological forces that dissolved the guilds and parish economies of pre-modern Christendom. After the Reformation shattered the unified order of altar and throne, capital began to float free from household, nation, and moral law. The result was the joint-stock company stripped of local allegiance.

The governing principle violated here is the historic Christian teaching that property exists as stewardship under God, not as an instrument for leveling society. Scripture condemns both the envy-driven seizure of goods and the usurious abstraction of wealth from productive households. Markets exist within moral bounds set by family, parish, and nation; they do not create those bounds.

The Augustinian distinction between the City of God and the City of Man applies directly. Woke capital belongs to the earthly city that worships power and consensus rather than truth. Its collapse vindicates the older conviction that economic activity must serve ordered liberty rather than dissolve it into global consumer units.

Central banks and regulatory agencies accelerated the distortion by rewarding firms that adopted ESG scoring. Capital flowed not to the most productive enterprises but to those that signaled allegiance to the new orthodoxy. Households that once formed the basic productive unit now face de-banking and cultural erasure when they dissent.

The faithful remnant must therefore withdraw support from institutions captured by this priesthood. Parallel banking, local production, and covenantal enterprise become necessary acts of resistance. Property must again be held as inheritance and duty rather than liquid asset for ideological signaling.

Judgment falls on those who subordinated the real economy to abstract virtue. The households that refuse the new sacraments will inherit the ruins they leave behind.
