Wichita State University now offers a pre-orientation program aimed at students who already bear the duty of raising young children. This step occurs inside an academy that otherwise promotes the dissolution of households through anti-natal policies and the celebration of childlessness.
The program addresses a concrete disorder: universities treat the bearing and rearing of children as an obstacle to be managed rather than the foundation of ordered life. The actor here is the same technocratic apparatus that has captured most campuses and subordinated every natural bond to credentialing and ideological conformity.
Scripture and the undivided Church have always placed the household under the headship of the father as the first sphere of authority and production. The Puritans carried this order across the Atlantic, building colonies on covenant households that formed the economic and moral backbone of early America.
Christendom's universities once arose from the same conviction, training men within the context of inherited faith and family duty rather than against them. The present inversion, in which higher education demands the postponement or rejection of children, marks a decisive break with that inheritance.
The Wichita State initiative therefore vindicates the governing principle that family precedes the state and the market. It affirms that property, labor, and learning exist to serve the household, not the reverse.
Where the Managerial Priesthood seeks to reduce man to an isolated economic unit, any recognition of parental responsibility strikes at the root of their project. Such recognition must be seized and multiplied.
The Faithful Remnant must now demand that every institution claiming public funds place the household first. They must withdraw support from those that continue to treat fatherhood and motherhood as liabilities.
Only by restoring the patriarchal household as the measure of policy can the collapse of birth rates and the atomization of the people be arrested. Wichita State has taken one small step; the remnant must make it the standard.
