The Reckoning of Gaza and the Law of Nations

The October 2023 Palestinian assault on Israel has revived the settlement movement's explicit program of conquest, expulsion, and repopulation across the Gaza Strip. Leaders formed in the Hebron and Gush Emunim outposts now treat the Strip as territory to be reclaimed rather than governed from afar.

The October 2023 assault upon Israeli communities triggered the open return of a settlement vanguard whose program runs from the Park Hotel in Hebron through the Samaria hills to the present demand for Gaza. Minister Bezalel Smotrich and the ideological heirs of Gush Emunim now speak without apology of conquest followed by the removal of two million residents and the planting of Jewish households in their place.

This sequence is not an aberration but the logical reply of a people who refuse to be reduced to managers of their own dispossession. Every historic nation that retains memory of its founding knows that land held without settlers is land already ceded to the next invader.

The principle at stake is older than the modern state of Israel. It is the same law that moved Christian kingdoms to drive out Moorish settlers after seven centuries of occupation and that moved the American colonies to clear and plant the wilderness against rival European and native claims. A people that cannot settle its own soil will be settled by others.

The managerial priesthood of the present age condemns such reclamation as aggression while it finances and protects the demographic replacement of European and American nations. The contradiction reveals the deeper order: only certain peoples are permitted to defend their demographic character; all others must submit to managed decline.

Scripture records the command to drive out the inhabitants of the land and to plant households in their stead. The same covenantal pattern appears in the Christian centuries whenever a faithful remnant recovered territory lost to invasion. The Gaza movement stands inside that continuity, whether its actors confess it or not.

Those who denounce the program as extremism serve the Dispossessor, the power that dissolves every particular people into an undifferentiated mass under universal administration. Their moral vocabulary exists to criminalize the normal acts of self-preservation that built every stable nation in Christendom.

The faithful remnant therefore recognizes the Gaza campaign as one front in the larger struggle for ordered inheritance. Support for the right of settlement is support for the same right when it is asserted by European peoples against their own replacement regimes.

Nations that forget this law are erased. Nations that remember it plant again.
