The Progressive Bargain with the Crescent

Bill Maher named the betrayal when he demanded that progressives cease throwing homosexuals under the bus to placate Muslim voters. The left’s refusal to defend its own declared principles against Islamic opposition exposes the coalition’s fatal fracture.

This maneuver follows the pattern of every earthly city that subordinates truth to temporary alliances. The Managerial Priesthood trades the claims of one protected class for the votes of another, revealing that its moral order is constructed rather than discovered.

The Realists have always insisted that universals exist independent of opinion. When a liberal activist admits that Muslim constituencies reject LGBT rights yet still withholds criticism, she confesses that her creed bends before demographic pressure rather than standing on the objective standard of right and wrong.

Augustine taught that the City of God measures every earthly compact by the eternal law of its Creator. The present accommodation between secular progressives and Islamic populations repeats the ancient error of subordinating divine and natural order to political utility, the same error that hastened the collapse of Christian North Africa after the seventh century.

The governing principle remains unchanged: no people can survive by sacrificing its children to foreign gods. The left’s governing coalition now demands precisely this sacrifice whenever Islamic opinion collides with its earlier pieties.

The Faithful Remnant must therefore withdraw consent from any alliance that requires the concealment of moral truth. Households and congregations must refuse to lend their sons and daughters to coalitions whose first loyalty lies with demographic conquest rather than with the inheritance of the saints.

The judgment falls as necessity. Those who will not defend their own stated convictions against a religion that executes the very persons they claim to champion have already chosen the terms of their own dispossession.
