Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Dan Caine delivered the decisive brief to President Trump: existing missile stocks cannot support sustained operations against Iran. The Managerial Priesthood within the Pentagon has therefore placed the brake on further escalation, forcing the commander in chief into a pattern of public menace followed by quiet withdrawal.
This depletion did not arise from sudden battlefield losses alone. Decades of distant expeditions, from the 1991 Gulf intervention through the long occupation of Iraq and the arming of foreign proxies, have steadily transferred precision munitions to theaters chosen by interests remote from the American people. The present shortage simply makes visible what those earlier campaigns concealed.
Scripture and the ancient creeds alike require that the sword be drawn in defense of the household and the commonwealth, not to police distant borders or settle ancient tribal quarrels. The Augustinian distinction between the City of God and the earthly city condemns the endless expenditure of national strength on projects that serve neither faith nor fatherland.
Western Christendom learned this lesson at the close of the medieval crusading era, when repeated Levantine campaigns left European kingdoms exhausted and vulnerable to internal fracture and external pressure. The same pattern now repeats under a different banner, with the same result: arsenals emptied and the core nation left exposed.
The governing principle remains unchanged. A people may lawfully wage war only when the defense of its own borders, families, and altars demands it. Any other use converts the sword into an instrument of the Dispossessor, transferring strength from the loyal citizen to foreign clients and corporate suppliers.
Trump’s restraint, however reluctantly imposed, therefore marks the first honest recognition of limits in recent memory. Continued pressure from the Managerial Priesthood to rearm for yet another round of Middle Eastern strikes must be resisted.
The faithful remnant must therefore demand the immediate redirection of remaining stocks to the defense of the southern border and the reconstitution of domestic industrial capacity under national control. Only then can the republic recover the material foundation of its sovereignty.
