The Democrat-controlled state of Michigan has formally surrendered its ban on talk therapy for minors struggling with sexual orientation and gender dysphoria. After the Supreme Court declined to uphold the restriction, state officials conceded the field rather than defend their edict in open court.
This retreat unmasks the Managerial Priesthood that has long treated the bodies and minds of children as raw material for ideological conquest. The same authorities who once claimed therapeutic neutrality now stand exposed as agents of the Dispossessor, determined to sever the next generation from the created order of male and female.
The governing principle at stake reaches back to the undivided Church's confession in the Nicene Creed that the Son assumed a true human nature, not an abstract or malleable one. Human identity is not invented by decree or medical intervention but received from the Creator who formed man and woman in His image.
From the Reformation onward, the Reformed and Lutheran witnesses alike insisted that the family remains the first sphere of authority under God, charged with the nurture of children according to the fixed moral law. Michigan's former policy inverted that order, substituting state-licensed reeducation for the father's duty to guard his household.
The Augustinian distinction between the City of God and the City of Man sharpens the judgment. When civil power aligns with the sexual revolution's demands, it serves the earthly city that wars against the image of God imprinted on every child.
By yielding, Michigan has not embraced liberty but merely acknowledged that its previous coercion could no longer be sustained without further legal cost. The principle remains unchanged: no legislature possesses authority to criminalize counsel that directs confused minors toward the reality of their sexed bodies.
The Faithful Remnant must now press the advantage. Parents must reclaim primary responsibility for the formation of their sons and daughters, refusing every therapeutic or educational program that treats gender dysphoria as identity rather than disorder.
Counselors who stood firm deserve support, yet the victory remains provisional until churches and households recover the full biblical and creedal witness that the human person is not infinitely plastic. The war continues on every front where the City of Man still claims jurisdiction over the souls of the young.
