This demand does not arise from innocent love of sport. It flows from the modern project of forming children into portable units of achievement whose primary allegiance belongs to institutions rather than to fathers.
The governing order of Christendom placed the household under the father's rule as the first school of piety and labor. From the days when the Church fathers defended the integrity of the Christian home against pagan dissolution, through the Puritan insistence on covenant nurture within the family, the pattern remained clear: no external association may claim the child against the father's authority.
When travel teams extract sons from that order, they serve the same logic that later produced the managerial state and the school bureaucracy. They teach children early that success flows from pleasing coaches and organizations rather than honoring the head of the house.
The faithful remnant must therefore refuse these invitations when they fracture household worship and paternal oversight. Fathers who yield the calendar to the team are already training their sons to view the home as optional.
Restoration begins with the simple decision to keep the son in the local league where the game remains recreation and the family remains sovereign. Every tournament declined is an act of resistance against the dispossessing powers that seek to replace the City of God with the schedule of the market.
